Create how you Create with NoahMadeThat
We sat down with Noah Dawlearn to see how he creates.
Story Writen by: Scott Morris
Why create if there is no meaning to it?
Noah Dawlearn embodies the passion over profitability when it comes to how he expresses himself. Never putting too much emphasis into art, he strives to create and express himself in his way.
What started out as a creative outlet in high school with photography transitioned into a stress relieving activity which has now fully developed into spreading passion around H-town.
Taking inspiration from a video about making a keyboard, Noah learned how he wanted his creative process to be: starting with your idea, putting it into parameters, setting a mood board, and getting to work.
It isn’t about the names Noah meets along the way, but who. Connecting with people through his photographer and getting to learn their story and why they create inspired him to start sharing the stories he’s learned along the way. That’s what art is to him; see how people express themselves.
“[Art] is a cool way to create and express yourself. Try and come up with new shit you haven’t seen before. Not even that, just make shit and see what happens from there. I do things because it feels right and it looks cool.”
The turn for Noah and his creative journey is realizing he wanted to do more for himself rather than other people. He’s worked with photography, fashion, art, and other creative outlets before realizing he wanted to make his own path and doing things he will be proud of.
Now he finds himself around Houston at art shows showing off the new art he has created while connecting with other local artists to begin collaborations. For him, it is all about hearing other creators and what they have to say so everyone can improve. Just continuing to build on feedback and growing.
For the future, Noah is just finding ways to showcase the multiple different artforms he is working on while implementing that story telling aspect into his passion.
Sure, you’ll get to know who Noah is and what he does. But that’s not the point of this. It’s about who you are and how you create. Why do you wake up in the morning and what drives you. Why is art so important to you and how did you come across this form of expression to show off your true self.
And of course dad jokes, goat condiments, and stories along the way.
Why do all this work for others if you have yourself to satisfy? That why you gotta create how you create.
“Stop being scared of what ifs. You are the one who stands in the way of your success, so you gotta do that shit.” @noahmadethat
